Marketing (Closed)

Overview »

At Santander, it’s all about the customer. With over 25 million people across the UK choosing to bank with us, we have to make sure that they are all aware of all the benefits that our products and services offer. This ever-increasing communication challenge comes under the responsibility of our Marketing department.

Internship opportunities in our Marketing operation are highly sought after. This twelve week programme will take you into different placements across several teams. One day you could be analysing customers, the next developing product propositions. There are a variety of teams that you can be a part of including Banking, Savings & Investments, Product Control & Governance and Strategic Development. You might even find yourself within our Brand and Communications team where you’ll be called upon to manage and implement nationwide marketing campaigns that support the launch of our innovative products. In fact you could be involved in any of the following:

  • Developing and delivering ideas for ground-breaking products.
  • Managing product and pricing initiatives.
  • Analysing the market to better understand our customers and competitors.
  • Working with key stakeholders to manufacture, manage and maintain marketing strategies.
  • Developing and delivering first-class propositions that differentiate us in the market place.
  • Identifying and executing improvements to processes, customer experiences and service quality across our retail banking products.
  • Developing and delivering first class customer communications.

By the end of the scheme, you should have a good overview of the needs of our customers and the work that our marketing teams are involved in. We work closely with many other parts of the business, so you should also gain an understanding of the overall financial services industry.

Location »

You will be based in either London or Milton Keynes.

What we look for in you »

You’ll need or expect to gain a 2:1 degree in Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Business or another subject with substantial numerical content. While drive, determination and a can-do attitude are important, we are also looking for people who can bring a fresh approach to problem solving.
