Internship: Marketing

Overview »

As a bank, we are committed to offering simple products, providing a personal service and always keeping the customer at the forefront of our minds. We have a range of products designed to meet our customers’ needs that we are extremely proud of and our aim is to help our customers understand how our products and services could benefit them.

Internship opportunities in our marketing team are highly sought after. This ten-week programme is aimed at providing you with exposure to as many different facets of marketing as possible so you gain a real understanding of what goes on within our team. One day you could be analysing customers, the next developing product propositions. There are a variety of teams that you can be a part of including Banking, Savings & Investments, Product Control & Governance and Strategic Development. You might even find yourself within our Brand and Communications team where you’ll be called upon to manage and implement nationwide marketing campaigns that support the launch of our innovative products. In fact you could be involved in any of the following:

  • Developing and delivering ideas for ground-breaking products.
  • Managing product and pricing initiatives.
  • Analysing the market to better understand our customers and competitors.
  • Working with key stakeholders to manufacture, manage and maintain marketing strategies.
  • Developing and delivering first-class propositions that differentiate us in the market place.
  • Identifying and executing improvements to processes, customer experiences and service quality across our retail banking products.
  • Developing and delivering first class customer communications.

By the end of the scheme, you should have a good overview of the needs of our customers and the work that our marketing teams are involved in. We work closely with many other parts of the business, so you should also gain an understanding of the overall financial services industry.
