Internship: Intermediary Distribution (Closed)

Overview »

Intermediaries are becoming increasingly important in the financial services sector and it’s also a significant channel for our business. By ensuring we offer great products and continually expand the number we sell, our small team has made Santander the partner of choice for many financial intermediaries and created a hugely successful business channel.

Our Intermediary team support all aspects of the sales process. Thanks to their knowledge in this sector, they can pass on information onto senior team members and help play a valuable part in the decision making. For you this means exposure to a variety of activities focused around budgets, target setting, reward, control and governance. You’ll also gain valuable insight into the ways we work through key clients and work on a broad range of projects.

Sales planning:

Planning is at the heart of everything we do. As well as geographical analysis of location and size of the sales patch, you’ll also help compile data on market shares of each individual broker and calculate expected business targets.

Finance:

Are our ideas going to be profitable? Some of the projects you’ll be working on will involve analysing and collecting information on our business strategies and converting these into financial plans.

Governance and controls:

At Santander our business is strictly regulated. You’ll play your part in assessing the suitability of controls in place, as well as the sales force’s performance against quality controls.

Location »

You’ll be based in London or Milton Keynes. While you’re with us you may need to visit our telephony sites in Manchester, Glasgow or Sheffield as well as other UK locations.

What we look for in you »

To join the programme you will need a 2:1 (or equivalent) in any degree discipline. You’ll also have held a position of responsibility at university or school (e.g. Vice President of a society, Team Captain, Secretary or Treasurer) or a minimum of two months' customer-related work experience.
