Internship: Compliance (Closed)

Overview »

The banking sector is under more scrutiny than ever. The Compliance team is there to ensure we’re doing things right. By maintaining robust internal controls, they protect Santander UK’s assets and reputation in the marketplace. They also manage our relationships with regulators and ensure we’re compliant with the latest requirements. In recent years, regulation has steadily become more complex – so there’s a real future to be had in this area.

This 10-week internship has been designed to give you maximum exposure to the Compliance function. You’ll join Special Projects & Reporting – a unit which undertakes projects on behalf of all our compliance teams including Retail, Wholesale, Corporate, Monitoring, Data Protection, Financial Promotions, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery & Corruption and Quality Assurance. It’s a highly intensive placement that will see you acquiring a broad insight into a whole range of compliance issues in a very short space of time.

You’ll also get to see how compliance works within the wider organisation. As well as teams within Compliance, you’ll have daily contact with team members from other relevant functions within Santander UK, such as Internal Governance and Control, Risk, HR, Regulatory Affairs, Secretariat and Internal Audit.

Location »

This internship will be based in our Milton Keynes office. However, you will be required to travel to London on a regular basis.
