Graduates: Banking Operations Support - Geoban (Closed)

Overview »

Providing service support to more than 90 million Santander customers, and over 171,000 Santander employees, in more than 14,000 Santander branches, Geoban UK was created in December 2007. We’re always looking for new ways to deliver consistent, high-quality services as cost efficiently as possible - leveraging Continuous Process Improvement, Technology and Automation, Central Managements & Control Functions and Corporate Alignment.

Join our Graduate Programme, and you’ll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while playing a vital role in our mission.

During our two year rotational programme, you will complete four assignments, normally lasting around six months. You will also gain experience in a variety of areas, working on a mixture of different projects, some of which may be internally focused, while others will involve external customer projects. The rotations will see you move to different teams in key parts of the business, giving you the chance to learn about teamwork, and demonstrate your innovation, commitment and excellence. You will receive training and mentoring to help you perfect your leadership skills and realise your full potential.

These roles are based in Bradford, Bootle and Milton Keynes, although some travelling may be required to other Geoban and Santander UK offices.

This programme involves four placements across different parts of the Geoban business, examples of where you may be placed include:

Organisation & Change Management

This team manages the implementation of change projects. Your time here could involve bringing new products and services to market, supporting the implementation of IT releases, exploring and implementing cost reduction exercises, launching new marketing initiatives or working with operational areas to implement improvements to processes and customer service. You’ll develop your leadership skills and the ability to balance the competing demands of time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction as you work alongside other project managers.

Governance & Control

In this role, you’ll use your analytical skills to gather and manage information. You’ll need to understand our Regulatory Management Control Model and use this in the management of operational risk. With your strong problem-solving ability, and eye for detail, you will help us improve the way we work – all with the aim of improving the customer experience.

Santander UK Operations

This fast paced and busy area provides servicing and control to Santander UK. The function controls retail statement and letter production, post opening across the retail product ranges and brands, and a Probate Centre of Excellence, where we provide a holistic approach to customer holdings across the product range, to offer a single point of contact. Whatever your role entails, you are guaranteed to be part of a busy team whose operation fundamentally enables Santander UK to be one of the most efficient financial service providers in the UK. You will need to have strong communication skills, commercial awareness and be passionate about improving the end-to-end service to our customers.

Data Quality and Structural Systems (DQSS)

DQSS provide the following core services for Retail, Corporate, Cahoot, and SCL, across Core Partenon Structural Systems, Finance Systems, and Risk Systems: quality assurance and review; control, set up and maintenance of core business parameters; core financial control management on behalf of the customer and the bank; control and set up of access to core systems and the design, implementation, and certification of core system changes

What we look for in you »

We’re looking for commercial thinking people who have or will soon hold a 2:1 degree (or the equivalent) in business, accounting, finance, economics, IT or a process engineering discipline and hold 280 UCAS points (or equivalent). You must be highly organised, good under pressure, and quick to adapt to different environments. We're seeking candidates who will embrace our values and drive performance. You will demonstrate strong personal commitment and accountability and be willing to your comfort zone. You will need to be flexible, resilient and have a can do attitude.
